Senior Partner | General Insurance
I joined Clarity Partners on 1 May 2023, so I’ve been here since day one. My route into recruitment was a little unexpected. I’m a molecular biologist by degree, but when I first moved to Australia I couldn’t work in the science field without residency, so I landed in recruitment instead.
After starting in recruitment administration, I moved into a boutique agency and took on the Insurance desk, drawing on my previous experience in Insurance in Wales.
That’s where I met Anthony, our Managing Director and my first recruitment manager, and Aaron, who was working in Finance recruitment at the time. Fast forward six years and I was asked to join them in launching Clarity Partners.
I’m now a 360 General Insurance recruiter, managing the desk from start to finish and having built the Insurance division at Clarity. I work across Claims, Underwriting and Broking, from support roles through to Heads of, as well as other areas across general insurance.
The part I enjoy most is directly making two people’s lives better at the same time. Getting to know businesses properly and understanding what they need, while also getting to know professionals and what matters to them, means you can find opportunities where both sides genuinely benefit. The best placements are often the ones where someone didn’t think the right opportunity was possible.
I’m proud of the journey from moving to a brand-new country almost a decade ago and entering an industry I had never worked in, to building a strong network and becoming a trusted person in the Insurance market.
At Clarity, I love the flexibility, trust and autonomy. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me walking with my one-eyed Frenchie, Tofu, working out, cooking or enjoying a Thursday evening wine with industry friends. Weekends are my favourite when they involve camping somewhere in WA with my partner and Tofu. Recruitment keeps us pretty plugged in, so switching off from the notifications and getting back to nature is my favourite way to reset.
