Associate Partner - Transactional Finance

I was fresh out of university in the UK, deciding where to start my career, when I received a call from an international recruitment company inviting me in for an interview. Not knowing much about recruitment at the time, I went in with an open mind and ended up spending around 18 months there.

Having not done much travelling up to that point, I decided to take a year out to see more of the world. I completed my regional work and then spent six months travelling around Australia, before Anthony reached out while I was working on a chilli farm in Carnarvon. I bought into the vision and joined Clarity, where I’ve now been for nearly three years.

I specialise in interim and contract recruitment, specifically within transactional and non-qualified finance.

I work with clients across the board, from not-for-profits through to Tier 1 mining companies. The roles I recruit range from standalone Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable positions (from entry level through to management), to more blended roles including Assistant Accountants, Bookkeepers, and Finance/Accounts Officers.

What I enjoy most about my job is the connections I make. Perth, like Cambridge where I’m from, is a place where everyone seems to know each other, and the impression you leave really matters. I’ve been fortunate to work with many great clients and candidates along the way.

One of the things I’m most proud of in my career is helping to start and build Clarity’s interim finance offering and contributing to its growth across the business.

What I enjoy most about working at Clarity Partners is 100% the people. Moving to the other side of the world can be daunting, and building new connections isn’t always easy. I’ve watched the company grow from under 10 people to over 25, and I genuinely believe we have one of the strongest cultures out there.

Outside of work, I’ve always been quite sporty, so I spend most of my free time playing beach volleyball, golf, badminton and football, or training at the gym. I’m also a part-time salesman for my wife’s small business.
