Recruitment Consultant | Health & Safety

I’ve never really known exactly what I wanted to do, but with a degree in Marketing and Business, experience in internal recruitment as a manager, and a passion for chatting to people, recruitment felt like the perfect fit. A little bit of divine timing was involved too, I ended up sitting on a desk with someone who had loads of mutual connections with me back in Scotland, something neither of us realised until a few weeks into the job.

I specialise in Health and Safety recruitment across Western Australia and, more recently, South Australia, supporting clients with both temporary and permanent hires. I recruit everything from Advisors through to Regional Managers, as well as niche positions across Environmental and Training & Assessing.

I mainly partner with clients across mining, civil, logistics and manufacturing, working with both owner-operators and contractors of all sizes.

What I enjoy most about my job is learning about the industries I recruit in. Some days it feels like I'm back at university, learning from experts in the field. Whether I'm catching up with someone over coffee, attending networking events or pulling on the PPE to visit site, every conversation helps me better understand the challenges my clients and candidates face. I also really appreciate working somewhere that recognises the value of getting out into the industry and encourages us to do it.

One of the things I'm most proud of in my career is making the transition into agency recruitment. While I had plenty of transferable skills, I hadn't worked in an agency before, and Clarity saw my potential rather than just my experience on paper. That's something I'll always be grateful for, and it's shaped the way I approach recruitment today.

What I enjoy most about working at Clarity Partners is the people. It's probably no surprise that a recruitment company knows how to hire good people, but the culture here really is what everyone hopes to find, supportive, fun, and full of people who celebrate each other's wins while helping one another through the tougher days.

Outside of work, I love to travel. Over the last few years I've been lucky enough to explore Japan, South Korea and Southeast Asia, and now that I've settled into Perth, I'm making the most of discovering everything Western Australia has to offer.
