Clarity Partners is seeking an experienced Contracts Principal to join a major resources project delivery team responsible for advancing significant iron ore and infrastructure developments across Western Australia.

About the Role

This is an opportunity to contribute to a high-profile project environment where commercial discipline, strategic thinking and effective contract management are critical to project success.

You will provide senior commercial and contracts support, working closely with project controls and other key stakeholders as the project progresses towards Final Investment Decision (FID). You will play an important role in shaping the contracts approach, managing commercial risks and supporting the project’s transition towards execution.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the development and implementation of contracts and commercial strategies aligned with project objectives.
  • Provide strategic advice on contract structures, procurement approaches and commercial arrangements.
  • Oversee tendering, contract negotiations, evaluation and award processes.
  • Identify and manage contractual risks, commercial exposures, variations and claims.
  • Ensure contract management processes, documentation and governance requirements are maintained.
  • Work collaboratively with project controls, engineering, procurement and other stakeholders to support project planning and delivery.
  • Provide commercial insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making ahead of key project milestones.
  • Drive effective contractor and supplier engagement to support project outcomes, cost control and risk management.

About You

  • Extensive experience in senior contracts or commercial roles within the mining, resources, construction or major infrastructure sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex contracts across major capital projects.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement strategies, tendering, contract negotiation and commercial risk management.
  • Experience supporting projects through feasibility, pre-FID or early execution phases will be highly regarded.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to assess contractual risks and develop practical solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills, with the confidence to influence senior decision-makers.
  • A proactive, commercially minded approach and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced project environment.
